I spoke too soon.
Previously, I mentioned that Apple might have abandoned the Click Wheel iPods camp. I was wrong. It seems that the excitement is still there.
In fact, Namco has just released its new game, Tamagotchi: ‘Round The World for Click Wheel-based iPods.
The game is based on Bandai’s very popular series of egg-shaped digital pets devices, which kept players busy interacting with it in order to keep the virtual pets happy.
The game requires that players interact with cute clouds, playful plants and gleeful geysers in order to raise the ultimate pet: the entire world. The Tamagotchi’s world, that is. Players will get a chance to feed their Tamagotchis with fresh fruits and play tickle with them until they fall down laughing. Players get to tell their Tamagotchis to eat, dance, play and even poop themselves. New to the Tamagotchi world is the ability to play with the environmental creatures called Gaiatachi in order to earn stars which will then reward players with Stars that can be exchanged for Tamagotchi stamps.
Game features:
- Four Tamagotchis to choose from: Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi and Violetchi
- Lively and interactive environmental Gaiatchi such as geysers, plants, clouds and seedings
- Mini-games (six of them) to play with Gaiatchi, which includes: Rock Paper Scissors, Bubble Game, Move It, Beach Ball, TagIt and Dancing
- Three activities for the Tamagotchi: Tickling, Memory Match and Math Puzzle
- Earn Stars to buy special Tamagotchi Stamps
- Vibrant and colourful graphics that brings the Tamagotchi world to life
- Intuitive Click Wheel controls that puts the Tamagotchi at your fingertips
- Option to listen to the cute and bouncy soundtrack or the iPod music library while playing
The game is available from the iTunes Store for $4.99 a copy and is compatible with recent Click Wheel iPods. Remember to look under iPod Games and not the AppStore.
