Punch-O-Meter by DoApp, Inc. tests your prowess in punching through the use of the accelerometer built-in to both the iPhone and iPod touch. Nothing beats the feeling of punching something out after a hectic day at the office, especially when you had to deal with morons. For each punch thrown, you get an immediate feedback via a visual meter and a numeric score. Comeback phrases like “Was that a punch or a door knock?” appear after that to challenge you even further.
Once you are done challenging yourself, send a challenge to a friend or two via text or email and have your winnings/losts posted over at the Punch-O-Meter web site. Boast about it later at the water cooler.
The app’s description mentioned that scores are calculated based on a few factors and characteristics of the punch thrown. Your hard punch may be beaten by another hard punch, provided it is thrown in a straighter line. You will need to keep your punching speed, strength and straightness in check if you want constant high scores.
Oh, I’d like to remind you that there’s a very big risk that you might send the iPhone or iPod touch flying. Please be extra cautious when playing the game. For those looking for a good excuse to get an upgrade, this might just be the right app at the right price! LOL…
