iPod touch GeniusNews of a large-formed iPod touch with screen sizes of 7 or 9 inches are currently spreading on the interweb. Note that this is just rumors, which have yet to be confirmed.

The report which stemmed from TechCrunch, claims that three independent sources close to Apple told buyers to expect a large screen iPod touch device this coming fall of 2009. Vaja iPhone nano, Source: MacRumors

Here’s something to end 2008 with and give 2009 a good headstart. Looks like the iPhone nano could really be real. MacRumors has just spotted that Vaja Cases, a reputable and well-known case maker has just added iPhone nano as part of its offering.

The link from the navigation menu seems to be gone when I checked, but interested shoppers may still sign up to be notified when the cases are released.

iTunes Logo

UPDATE: I just checked the iTunes Store again and realised that there are indeed new freebies being added this week.

Erin McCarley’s Pony (It’s OK), taken from her new album Love, Save the Empty is this week’s Single of the Week.

Also, do check out Tomer Yusof’s Little Man, this week’s Discovery Download. If you liked the said track, do check out the entire album, titled Laughing Underground (Bonus Track Version).

It’s the end of the year and I guess the elves over at the iTunes Store has all gone back for holidays. There’s no new freebies this week. You may however, check out the rest of the freebies that was posted earlier, or hit the iTunes Store here.

iPhone Push EmailThe Mail application on both the iPhone and iPod touch works with a wide variety of email providers, including Apple’s MobileMe service, Microsoft Exchange as well as popular web-based email services like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and AOL Mail. You may also configure email that is based on the POP3 or IMAP protocols.

Mail also supports sending and receiving of embedded content like photos and graphics, as well as popular email attachments like Microsoft Office documents (including the new Office XML file formats), Apple iWork documents (Pages, Numbers and Keynote), Adobe PDFs and contact cards.

The moment I got my iPod touch, I checked the Settings menu and configured basically everything to my liking, including linking the iPod touch to most of my email accounts, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and my workplace’s Microsoft Exchange account.

Getting your mail on your iPhone or iPod touch has its many advantages. Your mail follows you as long as you have an active data connection. And, unlike web-based email, you don’t get served with ads on your device, resulting in much neater and faster email experience. However, the real gem comes in the form of ‘push email’.

iPhone nano

The case company that helped ‘announced’ both the iPhone 3G and 4th-gen iPod Nano to the world before Apple made it official, XSKN, has done it again. Before this, the company’s web site would only list iPhone nano as part of its offering category. The listing however does not link to any concrete detailed product images.
