Remember this post back when we were still talking about rumors of Macworld and Steve’s absence? Looks like Apple finally revealed what the tagline of ‘even the small talk will be big’ actually means. Too late? Well, it’s never too late as long as it is announced.
Announced today is a new iPod shuffle model, deemed ‘the first music player that talks to you’. Yes, small talk is the tagline.
The new 3rd-generation iPod shuffle is (according to Apple) jaw-droppingly small – in fact, it is just half the size of the previous generation! But the small size doesn’t mean it lacks juice or storage capacity. 4GB is now the new standard allowing up to 1,000 songs. Lacking from the new model is the control buttons – you now use the earphone cord to control.
Yes, the device talks to you! Using the same VoiceOver technology found in Mac OS X, the iPod shuffle speaks your song titles, artists and playlist names, giving you a new way in navigating your favorite music – all this thru the press of a button. Apple stated that VoiceOver will be available only in selected language.
The new iPod shuffle is available in either silver or black finishing and costs just $79. Have a look at the specs here: Tech Specs
