Happy Tuesday, everyone! It’s the best day of the week again, so let’s see what’s in store for us.
This week’s free Single of the Week download is Angel Taylor’s Make Me Believe. You may know Taylor as the one who scored a GRAMMY nomination with gospel-flavored R&B trio Trin-i-tee 5:7. She is now flying solo. Taylor calmly performs Make Me Believe amidst some smooth acoustic guitar and string orchestration. The song mentions about a deadbeat dude who claims that he wants her back. If you like the track, then don’t forget to check out the full album, Love Travels which was released today.
Fighting for your attention this week is two Discovery Download tracks – but worry not, they are all free for the taking so take your time! 4’33″: I – Tacet by John Cage happens to be an old song released back in 2002. John Cage was a modernist composer with a playful sense of humor. He wrote a short piano piece back in 1952 which instructs the soloist not to play any notes at all. An ensuing argument later quickly made 4’33″ into the most famous and controversial composition of Cage’s career. Check out his album, entitled Cage: 4’33″. No, the song is not four minutes and thirty-three seconds long, in fact, it was a little bit shy of two minutes.
The other free Discovery Download track is Love Struck by V Factory. This is a new song released yesterday. According to the description, V Factory are the boy band of 2009 and Love Struck is the song that you fans need to know. Heavy with club beats, synths for miles and overly-smitten, overlaying harmonies, this is a non-stop party track. Give the singles album some much needed love: Love Struck.
CuCu Diamantes brings to us Mas Fuerte as this week’s Cancion de la Semana. Diamantes was a part of the New York-based Afro-Latin fusion group, Yerba Buena. Starting her solo career, the Cuban vocalist and composer can now shine with her debut album, Cuculand. This album is set to be a stunner, as evidenced by the gem which is Mas Fuerte.
Finally, let’s take a look at this week’s free Music Video of the Week download. Peter Bjorn and John performs to us in Nothing to Worry About. A strange music video if you ask me, but very entertaining, nevertheless. Be sure to check out the full album, Living Thing after viewing the 30-second preview here.
