Released just about six days ago, WSJ – The Wall Street Journal Mobile Reader for the iPhone and iPod touch is slowly climbing its way to the top of the iTunes Store’s Top Free Apps list.
The app promises to deliver the latest in global news, financial events, market insights and information to those who wants to be updated and be ahead of the curve. All these information, plus entertainment, culture and sports coverage as they happen are free from the most credible source of news and information.
WSJ – The Wall Street Journal Mobile Reader (that’s a very long app name!) features exclusive news and information, video, radio podcasts, customized navigation and the ability to save your favorite articles to be shared with friends and colleagues later.
The app, which is ad-sponsored, looks to be getting a very good start. There are rooms for improvements – for instance, some of the fonts could be made smaller to allow easier article scanning. Another annoyance most users and reviewers in the iTunes Store noticed is the ad placement, which is at the bottom of the screen (not shown in any of the app’s screenshot) and does not seem to go away at all.
Overall, the app is stable, fast, clean and offers great content. At a price of free, the app is a worthy download. And, if you happen to stay in one of the participating countries, downloading this app qualifies for Apple’s One Billion App Downloads Countdown.
