BumpAs announced earlier, the iTunes App Store has just breached the one billion downloads mark. Apple has now revealed that Bump, a social networking app, is the one-billionth app downloaded. It happened that this is actually a free application for the taking.

Bump - ScreenshotThe lucky winner – a 13-year old Connor Mulcahey from Weston, CT. Connor will now walk away with a $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro. Lucky him.

Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing has this to say: “The revolutionary App Store has been a phenomenal hit with iPhone and iPod touch users around the world, and we’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve the astonishing milestone of one billion apps downloaded. In nine months, the App Store has completely revolutionized the mobile industry and this is only the beginning.”
