Good day everyone! It’s Tuesday again, so let us all head over to the virtual media mall that is the iTunes Store and see what’s available for free.

This week, download Nada by Zoé, the free Single of the Week. Britpop and psychedelic influences set the band apart in its native Mexico. Nada constructs a musical bridge from Manchester to Mexico City – Zoé attempts to escort you down the tunnel into Mexico’s alternate rock underground. Next, Philip LaRue brings to us Chasing the Daylight as this week’s Discovery Download presentation. Philip LaRue may be familiar to some of us, thanks to the work he did with his sister several years ago under the name of LaRue. He is now back with his own debut solo album – and he’s showing his passion with songs. The song is about LaRue wondering if his faith is like the wax wings of Icarus, something not destined to last forever. This isn’t the case, the song builds to a glowing, ringing embodiment of alt-pop glory, so rest assured. Laura Pausini teamed up with star James Blunt to bring us this week’s wonderful music video, Primavera Anticipada (It Is My Song). If you are a James Blunt fan, check this one out and fall in love with this stone cold of a masterpiece. Both Laura Pausini and James Blunt sounded excellent together. Good Tuesday, internet! I just gave the FREE ON iTunes page a quick look and yes, they are definitely back. I’m not sure why the iTunes Store team failed to update that page last week. Nevertheless, let’s check out what’s in store for us.

First is our Single of the Week download. Check out Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked by Cage the Elephant, a five-member group from Kentucky, who caught the attention of the iTunes Store team, all thanks to their roots-y blues-rock number. Matt and Brad Shultz (brothers) displayed an effortless chemistry in this feature-track. If you liked this track, then please do check out the full self-titled album as well: Cage the Elephant

Discovery Download series this week features a very nice song by Ida Maria, entitled I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked. Catchy title, eh? Ida Maria’s great rock ‘n’ roll voice occupies a kind of slurring middle ground between Joan Jett and the Strokes’ Julian Casblancas. This free track was a hit last spring in the UK – Maria voiced an often hard-to-face fact about relationships with an added punk-rock gusto, thus creating a jumpy pop tune that grabs the listeners by the collar. Next up, check out this week’s Cancion de la Semana, featuring Jasmine by Grupo Rush. This Dominican band has successfully taken the sounds of bachata into the 21st century. This is evident in the free track, with its rhythmic plucking of the electric steel string, resulting in a sweet summery eloquence of a bolero woven in. Add a little harmonizing and some hard-hitting bass, and this track is now a classy, club-ready groove. If you liked this track, then give the full album, We On Fire, a look!

Last, check out this week’s free Music Video of the Week download featuring the gorgeous Jessica Harp performing her latest hit, Boy Like Me. The song is fun and catchy and it’s been getting rave reviews from other reviewers in the iTunes Store. A must download if I must say. Check out the 30-second preview below. Also appearing in this week’s FREE ON iTunes page are some non-music related downloads. They are free, so why not just download ‘em and have fun?

First in the list is Iron Man: Armored Adventures, an animated feature premiering with Season 1. Part 1 of the pilot, Iron, Forged In Fire is now free for the taking. The show is all about a teenaged Tony Stark, the Iron Man geared for high-speed flight, battles and high-octaned adventures. Don’t forget to get the Season Pass, which includes all current and future episodes for the entire season – current episodes will download immediately upon purchase, while future episodes download as soon as they are available.

Also not to be missed is Truth In 24. It’s 24 hours of pure exhiliration, complete exhaustion and it’s not for the faint of heart or the ill-prepared. This is the legendary 24 hours of Le Mans. The film chronicles the dedication, determination and spirit required to not just survive the 3,000 grueling miles, but also to be in a position to win one of the greatest races in history. It is quite possibly one of the best real-life docu-dramas ever filmed, chimed a reviewer.

Yo! It’s Tuesday, and today happens to be the day where Apple would be announcing features of iPhone OS 3.0. While we wait for the event to begin, why not check out what’s in store for us this week in the freebies department?

Gloriana brings to us this week’s free Single of the Week download, Wild At Heart – a party anthem country song. This four-piece country pop act was formed in Nashville last year and they have been quickly assembling their debut album. The group is made up of brothers Tom and Mike Gossin, Rachel Reinart and America’s Most Talented Kid 2002 winner, Cheyenne Kimball.

Next up is Eli Young Band’s When It Rains, featured as this week’s free Discovery Download. Check out this Texas quartet based around the soulful sounds of Mike Eli and James Young. Like the Eagles, the group successfully put forth a sound that is somewhere between contemporary country pop and the electric-guitar-driven classic rock of the ’70s. When It Rains is definitely a nice mix of acoustic rhythm guitars and slow-burning rock suitable for sunsets and long goodbyes. Remember to also check out the full album, Jet Black & Jealous.

This week’s Cancion de la Semana features famed pianist Arthur Hanlon’s Te Quiero Llevar. Arthur Hanlon has spent a sizeable portion of his career devoted to the arrangement and composition of traditional Latin music on piano. His newest work is a spirited pop outing with help from passionate and romantic Luis Fonsi, which is featured in this free download. Also check out the full album, Piano Sin Fronteras.

Check out this week’s free Music Video of the Week download, featuring Calle 13′s Electro Movimiento, a reggaeton y hip-hop track. If you must, check out the full album Los de Atras Vienen Conmigo, but do give the 30-second preview a look beforehand.

Check out the pilot episode of Kings Season 1, entitled Goliath. The next offering is an insider look at Breaking Bad, Season 2. The cast of Breaking Bad talks about why the new season is even better than the first. Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman) takes you on an exclusive behind the scenes tour of Breaking Bad’s secret RV lab.

Top Gear fans rejoice. Season 12′s Episode 6 of the acclaimed series is available for free from the iTunes Store – this week only. See as Jeremy and James invade the Greenham Common airbase to find out if the Communists ever made a good car. Jeremy conducts an almost ridiculously thorough road test of the new Ford Fiesta, and London mayor Boris Johnson is the “Star In A Reasonably Priced Car”. Hello hello! It’s Tuesday again, so let’s check what the iTunes Store have in mind for freebie hunters!

The Foreign Exchange comes to us with this week’s free Single of The Week download. They’d brought with them the track, Take Off the Blues, featuring Darien Brockington. This track is taken from The Foreign Exchange’s second album, and it works as a blueprint of how future R&B ought to sound. Next is this week’s Discovery Download, featuring Mishka’s Above The Bones. Remember, the Discovery Download series puts the focus each week, on tracks of different genres that the iTunes Store team thinks would be worth our attention. Latin fans, rejoice! This week, Daniel Santacruz makes his appearance thru the free offering of If I Give You My Love (Version Bachata Urbana). Daniel brings the sounds of north and south and puts them together in the music heard on this second album of his. Radio Rompecorazones is the title of the album, be sure to check it out.

DRM-ed vs iTunes Plus continues to be played this week, so I shall link you all to the album tracks instead of the dedicated freebies page.

This weeks Single of the Week – tracks that the iTunes Store team has been enjoying features Alela Diane’s Dry Grass & Shadows. This free download has the guitar taking the spotlight while aided by some haunted female backing vocals and a light folk backing band. The ghostly tune of this song suggests some rough and rural sincerity that gives it an extra emotional weight. If you enjoyed this track, be sure to also check out Alela’s latest album, To Be Still. Note that To Be Still including this week’s free single are not iTunes Plus enabled.

Next up is this week’s Discovery Download. The iTunes Store puts the focus on a different genre every week and offers up a free track that they think is worth out attention. I guess Novalima’s Camote – this week’s featured track is really worth our attention, considering the 4.5 star rating that it garnered as of this writing. Camote features a booming, mid-tempo groove and is taken from Novalima’s latest album Coba Coba. Be sure to check out the full album if you fancy this track.

This week’s Music Video of the Week download features Metronomy’s A Thing for Me. If you like, do check out this 30-second preview which I’m hosting over at YouTube to ensure maximum compatibility. There are some free (kids) TV Show downloads this week. Check out Disney’s Aaron Stone. The show tells about 16-year old Charlie Landers who became the best Hero Rising video game player via his avatar, Aaron Stone. He was later recruited by an eccentric billionaire to help fight real crimes and real enemies. Watch as Charlie try to juggle his normal life of school, sports, girls and family while maintaining his super-secret identity. The first episode, Hero Rising, Pt. 1 is freely available in both High and Standard Definition downloads. Grab both if you like!

Another free kids TV Show this week is the season premiere of Sonny With a Chance starring Demi Lovato. Meet Sonny, a midwestern girl with a unique outlook on things, who has always used her performing talents and sense of humor to get her through life. It was only a matter of time before she gets discovered and was asked to become the newest cast member of “SO RANDOM”. Follow Sonny as she face the pressures of living up to her dreams to prove to herself and the world that she is up to the challenge. Episode 1 is entitled Sketchy Beginnings and is available for free in both High and Standard Definitions downloads.
