Here’s a summary of the steps required to create a US iTunes Store account. Feel free to also check out the video instructions posted below.

• Launch iTunes and invoke the iTunes Store, then make sure that you are in the US Store. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to verify.
• Next, choose any one of the free apps from the Top Free Apps list, located at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
• Click on the Get App button in the application’s description page. iTunes will prompt you for your login details.
• Click on the Create New Account button.
• Click on Continue in the Welcome screen then agree to the terms and conditions of the store.
• Fill in your contact details. I’d suggest that you provide an email address that you will always have access to – in case you need to contact the iTunes Store support team in the future. Your email address will become your Apple ID.
• Feel free to assign a secret question for account recovery, if required.
• Provide your birthday by selecting from the drop down lists.
• If you don’t want to receive mailings and offers from the iTunes Store, untick its respective check boxes.
• iTunes will now ask you for your payment details. No worries here. Just click on the radio button that says None.
• In the form that appears next, leave the Code field empty.
• Proceed to fill in your details. It’s okay to provide your real name.
• As for the mailing address, make sure that you provide a valid US address. Simply Google for one.
• Once done, click on Continue to proceed.
• Check the email account you provided for a verification email. Follow the instructions in the email to verify and complete your new account creation.
• Sign in to your newly created US iTunes Store account using the Apple ID (email) and password provided earlier during setup.
• Congratulations and welcome to the US iTunes Store!
