In these trying times, it would definitely help if you could save that buck or two. And what more when it comes to spending for our beloved gadgets? *grin*
The stand should work great on both the iPhone and iPod touch, although the 2G iPhone would require an extra pencil due to the extra thickness. There’s no cutting involved so butterfingers might give it a try. Best of all, it takes a few minutes to construct and requires lesser time to collapse once you are done. But since it fits so well, I don’t find myself wanting to deconstruct mine. 
From the pictures posted, it looks like the stand is very stable. I am thinking of making one myself with those expired ball point pens that I have lying in my drawer. Head over to Geeky Gadgets for more pictures.
