This just in from the myMUG forum, a local Mac Users Group which I frequent.
Building the pathway to an iPhone launch in Malaysia is the Online Apple Store. As of this moment, the Malaysian Online Apple Store currently has a “Shop iPhone” under the main navigation menu. The link is alive, but leads to a half-baked store page. Currently, only 8GB and 16GB models are presented. The details page also has a link to http://www.apple.com/my/iphone. Knowing Apple, that’s URL shall bring you to the official Malaysian Apple iPhone page! As of this moment, clicking that link redirects you to the US iPhone page instead.

Hello, Apple! What took you so long?
After years of using http://www.applemalaysia.com.my as their home page (with a Store button that links to nothing but a list of retailers), Apple finally opened its virtual doors to an official online store for the Malaysian market. The helpline even interacts in Bahasa Malaysia.
